Your instructor

Kyrstin Schuette is determined to make an impact. She serves as a principal at Apparatus General Benefit Corporation, a women-founded, led, and operated public affairs firm headquartered in Minneapolis, MN. At Apparatus, Kyrstin leads the firm's campaign, policy, and community engagement work. 


With over a decade of experience working for progressive organizations and on campaigns for individuals and issues up and down the ballot, Kyrstin is always on point to help direct, manage, and ensure those around her are able harness their own organizing power.


As part of her work at Apparatus, Kyrstin also serves as founder and executive director of the School Board Integrity Project, a nonprofit that provides training, resources, and information to current and potential school board candidates as they run for office. Kyrstin's personal experience with the real-life impact of discriminatory policies put into place by those in power with opposing values and motives as a student drive her to inspire and support candidates and activists who have the success of all students the center of their work. 


Her advocacy and campaign work has contributed to multiple awards including the Department of Justice Pride Award for her work in the Anoka-Hennepin school district and Independent Expenditure Campaign of the Year from the National Association of Political Consultants.


Kyrstin lives in Minneapolis with her wife (and high school sweetheart), Kayla, and their menagerie of pets.
